The issue of poverty and hunger is a big one in our society today. Food is important not just for its nutritional aspects, but also for personal, social, and community building.
Fact is though, despite being one of the wealthiest countries in the world, every day:
- 1 in 5 children face hunger
- 50,000,000 people worry about not having enough to eat
- we trash 40% of our food
Having been faced with unemployment twice in my life, approached near bankruptcy, and faced the possibility of poverty and hunger, these issues are very near and dear to my heart. Our consumption practices today are wasteful, and disruptive to what could be a healthier distribution of food stuffs in our country.
To this end, one of my buddies Wayne and his brother, are researching the possibility of pioneering a solution to this problem that would potentially help you give back in a very painless and practical way.
